Looking to kickstart your rhythm skills? Our Brighton beginner drum lessons are the perfect way to get started—whether you’re a kid with big musical dreams or an adult finally ready to check “learn to play drums” off your bucket list.
At Brighton Music Academy, we make learning drums fun, approachable, and exciting. Beginners of all ages are welcome, and you don’t need any prior experience. Just bring your curiosity—and maybe some ear protection for your housemates.
Our private drum instructors focus on the core fundamentals of drumming: stick control, rhythm reading, coordination, and basic grooves. From day one, students start playing real beats, not just exercises. Whether you’re on a drum set or a practice pad, you’ll be moving in time and gaining confidence with every lesson.
Brighton beginner drum lessons are available for children starting around age 5, all the way through teens and adults. Younger students get a strong foundation in counting, motor skills, and musical awareness. Adults benefit from personalized pacing and a relaxed, supportive environment. Many of our students start for fun—and stick with it because of how rewarding drumming becomes.
Lessons are available in-person at our Brighton location or online for added convenience. No drum set at home? No problem—we can start you on practice pads or help you choose a beginner-friendly setup.
